Migration to vb.net

Im still working with VB 6.0applications, but are looking to migrate seriously to .net. if im migrating to vb.net what are the advantages in using vb.net
And can i know the difference between vb.net and asp.net
can anyone answer me fast.Please.

At the company that I work for http://www.webandflo.com . We had to migrate our software from vb5 to vb6 which was no problem. The vb6 to .net. Man was that horrible, it took half a year and .net 2003 was horribly buggy. We also gave up edit and continue which was the single most time saving feature. Next we migrated to .net 2005 and finally after service pack 1 it is better than vb6. It is a fair bit better actually but it did take about a decade. It is finally the time to recommend a move to .net.

All I can say is after using Visual Basic 6 for years I'm more then happy to have gone to Visual Basic .net I really cannot say if it's better or not for you, just give it a try and see. VB.net is pretty much a new language in it self, so I can strongly recommend vb.net to you over vb 6 however vb 6 is still wildly used, so just give it a roll and see how it flows for you.
