MS Access 2010 Data Type Change for fields in Linked tables

If the table is already linked i would advise relinking it. You should have access to the source of this linked table if you can access it. Do the following: - Go to External Data Menu above - Select which ever type the file is (Excel, ODBC, text) - Select the 3rd option (link to the data source by creating a linked table) and browse for the source file. - Select Open - There should be a pop up now called the Link Wizard - When you come to the section where they ask you if your first row contains headings make sure you tick that box but also make sure that your first row actually does contain the headings. If it does not, you need to modify the source file. - Once you've ticked that and your first row truly contains the headings you will get the options to modify the data :) Hope this helps and good luck!
