MSI Install

How would I go about launching an MSI file from my computer. Say the path was (@"C:\\dog.msi"). Basically, when a user clicks a button saying install, then it will go and run the file. I tried opening or reading the file, but it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

I suppose I didn't answer the question entirely. To launch a program or open a file that has a valid association, you can use shellexecute. Look it up on www.pinvoke.net.

It should work by double-clicking on it in the windows explorer, or by typing in the path to the file in the RUN box, or by typing START from the command prompt. If I create a fake .MSI file: echo.>delme.msi then run it like this: start delme.msi Then I get a Microsoft Installer dialog that says this: [Windows Installer X] This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package. If your OS is older, you may need to download the latest Windows Installer from Microsoft.
