MVC With EF OR MVC with enterprise-library which 1 better

Hi
we are create a large application (online shopping) on mvc-5
but we are little bit confuse which approach
we are use in this project mvc with Entityframework or MVC with enterprise-library

plesase suggest me or why?

Enterprise library is a combination of reusable classes that will perform the .Net to SQL operation in a faster manner. Enterprise library relay on ADO.Net mostly. On the other hand EF is an ORM tool. However, still there is a debate between ADO.Net and EF among the .Net community. However, EF is build on the top of ADO.Net. As per my knowledge, EF will give some more advantage over ADO.Net (in terms of maintainability etc). So i suggest go with EF. Also as a positive side, i would recommend these realworld case studies in EF provided by MS. Hope this helps!

The choice of not being able to use EF for me is bind by the constraints I have in my environment that requires the applications to process millions of transactions per hour. This is the volume of processing in Telco environment. Whether to use EF or not is entirely up to your environment and choice (as long as you know the limitations of the chosen technology). If your system does not require such high loads, I don't foresee you will have any problems in using EF.

Enterprise Library:- It is a collection of reusable software component, designed to assist software developers with common enterprise development challenges. Entity Framework:- is an object-relational mapper that enables .NET developers to work with relational data using domain-specific objects. It eliminates the need for most of the data-access code that developers usually need to write. So as per my knowledge & understanding if you needed to persist data to a persistent store then you should use Enterprise Library otherwise Entity Framework id good.

Hi.. It's depend on the database if your database is very large then I suggest "Enterprise-library" otherwise you can use Entityframework. Because, due to some technical point of view and also about the speed of application is low if the database is large and you use EF. Thanks SAMIR
