my jquery is not working

my jquery is not working .sometime i get error as $(...).datatable is not a function

,$ is undefined ,$is not a function,c is undefined why it occur to me

what to do now is any one here to solve me the problem and understand whats the problem is

see my file is placed like this
when i arranged in this way
"C:/Users/sourabh/Documents/Visual Studio 2013/Projects/Particular/Particular/Contents/plugins
/plugins/datatables/plugins/bootstrap/dataTables.bootstrap.js"

now i am getting jquery isnot defined

First, remove this line from your code,

and after that just drag and drop this file in your page and after that clean,rebuild your solution and check.

Hi,

If the aspx page (not script) is inside any folder, then you have to reference the script with a ../

Is your page is located at root of the project or inside an folder?

Please check that whether Jquery file present in this location or not.
but in my concern it is not in the proper location.Please check in your system.

Hi.
This problem is arising due to jquery is not initialized in your page. So for that you need to use jquery in your page or if you are using master page then also declared in master and use it in sub page.
Ex:
You should do like this.

Hi,

Is your jquery file referenced properly.?

Please make sure the file path is correct.
