Need assistance
Hi, This is Ashok. I started my career with service desk profile and have worked for 3 years in that field. Last year I joined one MNC where i got an exposure on SharePoint 2007 and 2010 administration (basic admin tasks). I want to groom my self in Sharepoint so please someone could advice what all I have to learn to excel in the field of SharePoint.

Regarding your queries, the answer is conditional:
Big organizations: The skills Networking, Active Directory, Database etc. are Good to Have for SharePoint Administrator. In real world scenarios, the SharePoint Administrator works with Network Administrator & Database Administrator for getting things done.. (as there are clear cut operational boundaries in bigger organizations)
Small organizations: SharePoint Administrator need to install Database Server, Configure Active Directory, Perform Backup & Restore etc. (they are all rounders)
So i would say, you can have CORE knowledge in SharePoint Administration & BASIC knowledge in other aspects.
Plus, do not take advice from here & there, you will reach nowhere :) Take advice from Real Professionals in the Respective field!
