need dx problem solved

Question

I am not a dx programmer or software programmer I know a lot about hardware but am very novice when comes to software. here is my problem. I have a tiger woods golf simulation game and it was working great. then I downloaded dx9b from microsoft, and now everytime I go to play the game it will allow me to run game setup, but not the game itself. when I hit start it crashes back to the desktop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and I have run dx diag. dx diag shows everything to be ok. my other games, nascar heat and euopean air war, run fine. I even have an old win95 golf sim game that is working. Is there any way of reinstalling dx 8 back unto the the computer? if not is there anything I can do to solve this problem? you guys are my last hope.
