first of all i have to say, that the app i`d like to create is no commercial thing. I want to help a really good friend of mine to learn how to do things with his pc. Ok, he is 32 years, so you can expect that he knows how to do basics, but no. He has no clue of anything. So i would like to make some kind of step by step-app. But i only know actionscript and this doesnt really help me here. And i`ve tried hours and hours.
I need help doing this, so if someone likes the idea of helping an old friend, i would be happy. I think this is a thing of half a hour for someone knowing the basics.
Here`s what i like to do:
I want a small Applicationwindow, something like 700x300px, to be always on top of the windows when started. In this window is: (from top to bottom)
- Headline (f.e. How to burn a DVD)
- Subheadline (Step X)
- Text with the possibilitys for iconpics (this should be individual xaml-files for each step. I have to create them individual)
- Next & Back-Button (when there are no more steps/files the next/backbutton should be grey/inactive)
thats it!
In flash i would do it, but in VB i`m like a naked guy on a cornfield running backwards. ouch!
So pleeeeeeeeeease help me.
Thx and good night.

i can`t believe that this kind of app is really advanced. if so, tell me.
and i did choose wpf because it seemed to be easier to get the goal as with c#.

Go through article section of C# Corner, lots of WPF articles with samples available.
Start learning and do some hands on, so you will get confident and will reach a point what you want to do for your project.
That will be the best way, as you said it only takes an hour to make your first WPF app.
So I think, learning xaml for you will not take so much time :-).

for example, i did this tutorial for a simple Pictureviewer. It took an hour till it was done.
I want to do the same, but instead of loading images i want to load xaml-files (or any file, where i can write text and stick small picture between it)
But that xaml/whatever needs longer, i know. but i don`t want somebody to do these files. Just the app which loads it.

If you really want to do, you will have to learn C# language and Windows Forms programming. It won't be an hour or two job. I would say - months.

I dont know how to make the base-code, which will load some kind of info-file, maybe a xaml too, (in this file is the information for the headline and the folder of the xamls) into variables and then load the first xaml. after pressing the next button it should load the next xaml out of the same folder.
Thats it.
So if anyone can give me a example i would really appreciate it!
thx.
