need help in understanding the system.printing namespace in vb.net

want to do a project on the printer monitoring system that would monitor the usage of printer in the entire network. I think it can be done in vb.net using the system.printing namespace....
can any one help me ...by suggesting some ways to understand this namespace
i am comparatively new to this language and not well versed with it so any books that will help in
understanding advanced concepts will also be good.
