I wonder does anyone can help with my problem:

I want to read embedded/encoded data (in a binary format) in a DV cassette that is played using a DV player connected to my PC via firewire. How could i do this as simple as possible? i only need to continuously read and display that encoded data every 10 miliseconds, and will not do any digital video processing at all.

Any suggestion is much appreciated!
