Need Solution: Access Denied for Site Collection Administrator

Hi Friends,
I am facing an unexpected issue in my SP Portal Application.
User "portal01" has Site Collection Admin rights in Central Admin but "portal01" neither edit nor create any new pages (or any job which should be done by an Admin) in my application.
Neither those tabs/option are apperaing which generally appear for an Admin in a site.
Means "portal01" is behaving like a noral Reader but Central Admin shows that he has Site Collection Administrator right.
Please help to get rid of this issue.

Hi Mahesh & all friends,
I have resolved my issues.
Yes Mahesh,problem was related to permission. I dont know,how invisibly Admin was restricted to have only view access to the site .
And my Cental admin was showing Site Collection Administration rights for Admin.
after digging alot , to check the status of my site came to mind. And when i checked ,found that my site was locked as read only.
then i unlocked my site . and issue was resolved.
Command to get the status : stsadm -o getsitelock
Command to set the status : stsadm -o setsitelock -lock none

It seems like your problem is permissions on your account. Even though you are admin on a site, you need to ask your SharePoint Administrator to elevate your permissions on the server itself.
Just a thought.
