.NET framework BETA2

Install the framework after installing VS. Simply try it again, as you now have VS installed, it should create it´s own paths. Greetings, gilthanas

Hi there, I first installed .Net framework1.1 beta version and then installed complete Visual studio.net framework 7.0 professional from my cds. It is still giving me same 2 error messages when I try to make new project in C# language and it ask me to close Visual studio when I try to make project in VB (kind of weird behavior). I am not sure whether I should add C# compiler path in PATH(environment variable) so that VS.Net can find it or not. Moreover I am not sure which folder path should I add in PATH. I could not find any documentation for .Net framework or Visual studio.Net framework saying what path or folder should be added in PATH(environment variable of my system) so that Visual studio can find required compiler. I thought everything will be taken care off during long installation process and it will start smoothly.Kindly let me know what should I do to make visual studio instantiate the required compiler when new project is started. I think, you should first try to reinstall the .NET Framework Beta 1.1 - it´s less work than installing the whole VS again. Then try, whether it works and if not, deinstall VS and install it again with all components and then upgrade the framework, means, simply install the newer version again. Should be working then. Hi, I installed Visual studio .Net from my cds and in the component list that it shows during installation to tell that all these components will be installed I unchecked Microsoft.Net framework thinking that I have allready installed its latest version. Now when I am trying to make new project in C# it is giving me 2 error messages... 1) Project could not be opened because language specific compiler could not be instantiated. Re-install Visual studio. and when I click ok it shows another message 2) .Net assembly 'system' could not be found. What should I do ? Thank you C_sharpkid

Thank you very much.... I will try to do that.....I am not very much sure that it will allow me to install Visual studio.Net with .Net framework allready installed on my computer. Thank you C_sharpkid

Hi, c_sharpkid, the fact is, that Visual Studio is a commercial component from Microsoft. It costs about 2000 $ and is of course not included in the .NET Framework, which is for free. I think, you´ll definitely have to install Visual Studio from your CDs. Greetings, gilthanas

Hi Everyone, Thanks for giving me that link for downloading .Net framework 1.1 beta version. I don't want to sound like a problem kid but I have to ask this question..... I downloaded and installed .net framework 1.1 successfully but I was surpirsed that it has not installed visual studio so I am not able to write my GUI applications.... All I can see in my start up menu is Documentation, link for Overview and link for Tools.. Have I not downloaded or installed something right ? Do I have to install Visual studio from my old CDs seperately? I am confused ....Please help me out asap. Thanks C_sharpkid

Hi, my experience is that .NET Framework 1.1 Beta is working as good and sometimes even better than the .NET Framework 1.0 Version. Don´t hesitate to use the 1.1 Beta, I haven´t found a disadvantage until now. Greetings, Gilthanas

Hi, Please send me the link from where I can download the .Net framework. I searched couple of websites but all I could find is .Net framework1.1 beta version. Currently I have .Net framework version 1.0.2 Beta 2. Will it make any difference to dowload the beta version of .Net framework1.1? Thank you. C_sharpkid

It just doesn`t make any sense to have installed Beta 2. Upgrade your system to .NET framework release version and try again....
