number of pages in a TIFF Images

I'm fairly new to C#, but I've worked with TIFF for a while. You can make this determination by reading the TIFF file directly. The Tiff6 specification is widely available on the .net in PDF format. Here is a URL to it. http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/pdfs/tn/TIFF6.pdf You can open the file and read through the structure to determine the number of images. You'll find exactly what you're looking for in pages 13 through 16. Each image has an IFD structure in the file. Each IFD points to the next IFD. Open the file, read the first 4 bytes. This is the TIFF file signature. The next four bytes are the offset of the first IFD. Read the IFD structure from that location in the file. The last 4 bytes of the IFD structure point to the next IFD structure. Jump from IFD to IFD, counting them as you go. I believe you should look for a 0 in the "next IFD offset" field to determine that there are no more IFDs (this is a conclusion drawn from the sample format on page 20, at offset 00A6). Sorry I can't provide the code for it. My C# is still a little weak...

Hi, The Following code is working for me to determine the pages in a multipage tiff image. using System.Drawing; Bitmap bitmap = new Bitmap("C:/docs/mutlipage.tif"); Console.WriteLine(" Pages in Image are: " + bitmap.GetFrameCount(new FrameDimension(bitmap.FrameDimensionsList[0]))); Thanks SM
