The basic code to do something like that on a case-insensitive basis is as follows:

string required = textBox1.Text.Trim().ToLower();
string input = textBox2.Text.Trim().ToLower();
if (input.Contains(required))
{
textBox3.Text = String.Format("{0} does contain {1}", input, required);
}
else
{
textBox3.Text = String.Format("{0} does not contain {1}", input, required);
}

Well, you could do it using regular expressions but it's faster to do it with traditional string parsing methods.

Here's the basic code:

string text = "kjlghi~abcxzvb|rghtinsw";
List list = new List();
bool started = false;

foreach(char c in text)
{
   if(c == '~')
   {
   started = true;
   }
   else if (c == '|')
   {
   break;
   }
   else if(started)
   {
   list.Add(c);
   }
}

string result = "";
if (list.Count > 0) result = new string(list.ToArray());

actually i want it to find the string within a special symbols & display only that string which is within the special symbols. something lik this kjlghi~abcxzvb|rghtinsw

i want it to display only the string within ~ and |.

How do i do it?

Please guide in this regard.

i want to insert a string and want to check whether the given strinng has the required string in it or not. if it has the required string i want to display it in textbox. also i want to insert the string and required string in a text box and display whether the input string had required string in it or not
