Passing Field Values to a text box

if i dont call the GetMEssageContent Function each time in the loop , my replace would not work after the 1st loop, as "product name " woudl be replaced with the first customers product name and there after the replace command would not replace anything

In your case ItemCommand will not work, so leave that part. However you can improve your code to work faster by making 2 changes: First there's no need to read the contents of Products.txt for each row in a datagrid. Read the contents of Products.txt before the loop and store it in your txtEmailMatter. This will have a tremendous improvement in performance depending on the rows in Datagrid. Say txtEmailMatter.Text = GetMessageContent("C:\Products.txt") 'and then start your loop i = 0 for each row as rows in datarow 'and second reduce your code from 3 lines to 1 line. Iam a newbie in VB.net , can u please explain me the difference between a datatable and a datagrid. I first wanna show the users the list , beofre sending E-mail. Is that possible using a datatable.

I don't think you have a lot if option on how to do this. The only thing I woud change is using DataTable instead of DataGrid to as a source for your data.
