Passing multiple values to a method

A method can have as many parameters as you like. If the user doesn't pass the correct number of parameters of the correct types, then the method simply doesn't compile.

It is also possible for a method to take a variable number of parameters of the same type by using the 'params' keyword or by passing them in an array, ArrayList or List. However, it's not possible to set a limit on the number of parameters that may be passed in this way at compile time though you could throw an exception at runtime if the user passes too many.

One other thing you can do is to use optional parameters. As the name suggests, it's optional whether the user passes an argument for such a parameter or not. If no argument is passed, then a default value (specified at compile time) is used instead.

An array is an ordered fixed size collection containing elements of a particular type. The index is the number of an element in the array starting from 0. So, if you have an array of 5 elements, the first element has an index of 0 and the last element has an index of 4.
