Hi,

You can get the physical path of the file in the web server root folder.

// This will locate the Example.xml file in the App_Data folder.

// ... (App_Data is a good place to put data files.)

string a = HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~/App_Data/Example.xml");

// This will locate the Example.txt file in the root directory.

// ... This can be used in a file in any directory in the application.

string b = HttpContext.Current.Request.MapPath("~/Example.txt");

You can also get from this.

// Write request information to the file with HTML encoding.

string strPhyAppPath = Server.HtmlEncode(Request.PhysicalApplicationPath);

string strsw = Server.HtmlEncode(Request.PhysicalPath);

string strRaw = Server.HtmlEncode(Request.RawUrl);

Is this for an ASP.Net appliccaton of desktop? For desktop use the FullName Property of the FileInfo class.
