Please explain Global.asax file

Question

Hi guys.
I have an idea about what a global.asax file is and what events can be used in that file.Can anyone please explain where it can be actually used b'cos i am unable to understand the practical use of that file and where the events in the file can be used.

so are these events called for every session created for a user

hi friend, suppose you want to save some value in the particular session a user is working on website.... for example his timezoneoffset to get the client time so you can save it inside the Session_Start event.... and can clear the value in Session_End event. Similarly you have your own ideas what to perform when session of a user is started... you can even decide the session timeout in Session_Start event. hope you get clear idea..
