Port problem

I have a program that allows me to write things to a Pocket PC through the com ports. But on the Pocket PC I received today, there were only a USB cable for connecting it to my PC. How can I do similar things through a USB port? Are they named as com ports also, and if so, what are the usual numbers? I have an Acer Ferrari 3000 laptop, with 4 usb ports..... I want to be able to send data to the Pocket PC through the USB port of my laptop, to learn how to handle incoming data. Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. It's a Dell Axim X3 Pocket PC. - How do I find the name of the port on my Pocket PC? - Does anyone have some code that I can look at, that is finished? My real problem is knowing how to read from the port of the PPC, I'm a total novice when it comes to PPC's, and have known c# for 1.5 years or so. Hope for some help.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/02/10/netserialcomm/ Using the above article, you remove SetCommDCB, GetCommDCB and the DCB Settings from it and use as portname: \\\.\\[usbdevice] where usbdevice is your device name.
