Preventing A Save On A Directory/ Replacing User Accounts in XP

Is it possible for a vb.net program to prevent a user from saving into a particular directory? Maybe after the user selects a directory in the SaveFileDialog box, a msgbox pops up and says 'please select a different directory.' Also, would it be possible to replace the 'User Accounts' icon in the Control Panel? Thank you.

Click on "Start==>Control Panel==>Folder Options==>View (Tab)==>Uncheck the (Use simple file sharing box)==>OK" now right click the folder you want to deny access to. Click on"Properties==>Security(Tab)==>Click on Add button==Type the user name that you want to control==>deny and allow types of access as you wish in the Permissions Box" *You must be a system administrator to do this *The user you want to control must be less than an administrator "Power User or User" *If you deny a group that you belong to to access the folder/file/disk drive...you won't be able to access it too (REMEMBER THIS)

I'm not exactly sure how this should be done. Could you give me some examples of how an installation can be paused until the user selects a different drive and how to alert the user not to save a file on to a certain drive?

This kind of function is best handled by Windows, which already has built in permissions for drives and tools that can be used to monitor the resources. That said, do a search for "Process" in the VS help system.

I need to change what I said earlier. What I actually want to do is this. Prevent a user from saving on to a particular drive(like the D:\ or E:\ drive). I also would like to interrupt the install processes of other programs if they attempt to install on a particular drive. Is this possible?
