Problems with Connection to Oracle Database

Hi @ ALL! I have troubles with a connection to a Oracle Database and hope you can help me. If i try to open a connection in a ASP.NET Web Application to my Oracle database, the following error Message occurs: 'Permissione denied' I have no idea why i'm not allowed to read or write values from or into my datebase! Did you have anytime similar errors or a idea what the solution of this problem could be?? Awaiting your answers! Greeze, Chupacabra

There are 2 different connection strings: 1) OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection("Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle.1;Password=tiger;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=scott;Data Source=dragondb;"); Note: This one generated the error message "permission denied" 2) ....("Provider=MSDAORA.1;Password=tiger;User ID=scott;Data Source=dragondb"); Note: This connection string generated the error message "TNS: cannot resolve service name", but thats not possible because the oracle database named dragondb was running! I'm using the first connection string at the time. Hope i give you enough informations. Chupacabra

thx, for your reply. May i ask you where i can change the permissions of the aspnet user. Don't think that the User Options (WINDOWS XP) are the right one?? Chupacabra

I think you need to give permission to the ASPNET user.
