Quick question - if I were to develop a windows forms application using visual studio (c#) and the database in SQL server r2 - what would need to be distributed when it comes to delivering it to my client?

When you are installing on a client site, you will need to install .NET Framework and Database has to be on a Database server (one of the server at the client site), not on every client machine should have database, and last thing you need is change connection string to the database for the client.
