ISDN is hardware for doing many things, including voice and networks. It does not use just one type of network software. You need to know what type of network software you need to use. You probably need to use either Ethernet, which is used for local networks, or TCP/IP (also known as sockets), which is used for the internet. An ISDN usually does not have TCP/IP networks but if your program needs to communiate over the internet then you need to use TCP/IP.
