relationship issue in another table

I am new in database

I am trying to servicename(tbl_service) store in another table(tbl_qetintouch) but before I want to give relationship between them but give an error

I want to show dropdownlist servicename data in getintouchform and store the servicename in getintouch table

HI, You don't need service name column in getintouch table. Just add service id(fk) column and reference it. Before defining foreign key, update it with some default value.

Let me clarify my understanding. You have a drop down and you are populating data from tbl_service table. On some data save you wish to save service name reference in tbl_qetintouch.

If so, please define a column "serviceId" in tbl_qetintouch and make it as foreign key with reference to "serviceId" column in tbl_service.

Note:- you have predefined data in tbl_qetintouch and hence "serviceId" in tbl_qetintouch will have Null value by default. Update it to some default "ServiceId" value and then try creating foreign key reference.

Check Serviceid is primary key in service table and getinTouchId is primary key in GetinTouch table
Then you will not face error.

Use ServiceId as forign Key in tbl_qetintouch table.
