Personally, one of the first things I would do is to get my sinuses operated on. I would have had a very different life if my sinuses worked better. Then if I could I would get a house and other necessities, then I would work on making the world a better place.

It would be good to have my own corporation, even if it had very few assets and such. Just a fraction of a billion dollars would be plenty to do a lot for the world.

Professionally, I am not sure what I would do in terms of software. There are very many ideas I have in terms of software.

I think I would be a successful inventor if I had the money needed to invest in my ideas. I could make a lot of money from a little money.

It would be fantastic to have the money needed to make movies that helped people to be happy and get along together.

If I had billions of dollars to invest, I would try to figure out how to "burn" hydrocarbon fuel the way that nature does. Our bodies are like a fuel cell in the sense that it combines hydrocarbons (sugar) with oxygen to get electricity, much more efficiently than burning fuel like in an internal combustion engine. So in other words, it is theoretically possible to have an engine that takes gasoline and/or other hydrocarbon fuel and convertst that to electricity and use that for energy and then the hydrocarbon would be used much more efficiently; probably at least twice as efficienty so that instead of 30 MPG we might get 60 or 80 MPG. I don't know if fuel cells such as that exists but even if they were bigger than what could fit in an automobile, they could be used to make electricity much more efficiently than any other way.

Another possibility is research into getting energy from water. I would not want to invest in that unless we understood it better and only if it was safer than what happened in the Sylmar blast echoes fatal 2010 Simi Valley business explosion. If you think that getting energy from water is preposterous, read about Deuterium and cold fusion. There is a lot that scientists do not know.

I think one relatively safe investment would be to develop a way to get energy from a nuclear power plant in space. The danger of nuclear power plants is the possibility of readiation and explosions. A nuclear power plant in space could be a safe distance from Earth; the problem is how to get the energy from space. Oh, but wait; isn't there already a nuclear power plant in space? A really huge one? The Sun? There is an immense amount of energy just going out into space, wasted. I don't understand why we don't have a way to harvest that energy; there would be a virtually unlimited supply of energy.
