Remove projects folder from C#.net 2008

Question

I have a C#.net 2008 application that I want to keep only a few project folders. I want to complete this task since there are alot of proejct folkders in this C#.net 2008 application that are not used any longer. 
  Thus, can you tell me what I can do to remove the proejct folders I do not need any longer. I would need to remove any references to these folders also.
