Restrict table updation

How to restrict a table updation on weekend(like table can't be update in Saturday and sunday) in sql server 2008.

Hi, yes it is possible with "check" constraints but here is also u have to make the condition like CREATE TABLE Test_ ( P_Id int IDENTITY (1,1), DayOfTheWeek varchar(255) NOT NULL CHECK (DayOfTheWeek 'Sunday' and DayOfTheWeek 'Saturday'), FirstName varchar(255), Address varchar(255), City varchar(255) ) SELECT * FROM Test_ INSERT INTO Test_ VALUES ('sunday','ABC','AAM','BJP') //if you execute this insert statement it throw a error The INSERT statement conflicted with the CHECK constraint The statement has been terminated.

yes satish you can do it from front end just check the day according to your CultureInfo See the Demo here https://dotnetfiddle.net/a2W7bq or if you want o do it from select datename(dw,getdate())

hi, So what is problem in that if you are doing from front end just check name of day and and allow or don't allow to update if you are doing from back end so you also have to check name of the day and allowing or disallowing for update, but there is not any option are available to set some property or condition directly on table .
