rpm -V command usage

Hi all,

I want to do 'rpm -V ' command. (verify option and not verbose).
But I've confusion in the output. Can anyone please tell me what will be the output of this command, when a package installed is given at the command line.
Similarly tell me the case if the packege is not installed.

There's some documentation for the rpm utility here (see Verify an Installed Package) and it appears that it only produces some output if the package fails verification.

It then lists the files which failed together with a code or codes indicating the reason(s) for failure:
