Search & User Profile Service application in SharePoint 2013

1)Try stopping and restarting the services by:

Confirm that the user account that is performing this procedure is a member of the Farm Administrators SharePoint group.
On the Central Administration home page, click System Settings.
On the System Settings page, in the Servers section, click Manage services on server.
To change the server on which you want to start or stop the service, on the Server menu, click Change Server, and then click the server name that you want.
By default, only configurable services are displayed. To view all services, on the View menu, click All.
To start or stop a service, click Restart or Stop in the Action column of the relevant service.
Click OK to stop and start the service.

2) Check ULS Logs for errors

Enable verbose logging if you are not able to trace the error. Details are available here
If the services are running on multiple servers you can merge the ULS logs using Merge-SPLogFile . You can also provide a time stamp filer while merging the file. Details are available here
Once you find the root-cause, you can take necessary to resolve the issue.

Unless you check the ULS logs and find the exact rootcause of the failure, it is very difficult to find the resolution.
What is the error message you found in the ULS logs?

Hi Abhijeet,

Yes i agree to your response. Is there any other method to fix or trouble shoot "Search and UPS services" apart from restarting the services.
