its pretty easy to search what you want value and bind the results in web-grid in MVC,
Follow This Steps:-
Step 1:-
First select Your search box ID or Drop-down ID or search Name/ Drop-down name submit your form to controller
Step 2:-
Now Your controller to check the passed parameter in database value is there are not.. If value is there you need to return the model value to view..
Step 3:-
Finally In your WebGrid is Bonded the Returned Model Data..
