Self hosting in Web API and IIS hosting in ASP.Net MVC.

Question

ASP.NET MVC application required IIS for hosting but ASP.NET Web API can be self hosted

, without IIS.

 

my  confusion is that, if ASP.NET Web API can self hosted then what are the problems with ASP.NET MVC application for self hosting.

 

Can anybody help me in it.
