Send an email by Event Reciever to spgroup

Hi All,

Can anyone suggest me how to send an email to specific sharepoint group when an item is added in picture library??

It's better if you use Workflow instead of Event Receiver .

Add a APproval or publishing work flow for the library and check create the workflow when add an item and add a group in approvers stage. It will send a mail to the particular group

Event receivers run within the context of the user, so you will probably not have the proper permissions to send mail. Try to wrap the functionality in the SendMail function inside a RunwithElevatedPrivileges block

thank you so much for your sugestion..

but my task is when an item is added to DocumentLibrary it should send an email to particular sharepoint group using event reciever

Please accept my answer if it will helpful .

You should use SharePoint Designer list Workflow to send email to specific group in SharePoint.

Step1 : Open Your Designer -> Click on SharePoint List workflow -> Enter the Name of the workflow and Description .

You would be required to select the Send Email option from the Action Menu as shown below.

Once this option is selected a dialog box will be opened where you will be able to find options for the constructing the mail. Also in the To and CC fields you can select the members of the People and Group field.

Email will send to specific group when you adding any images in your library .
