Server independent in c # Project

Question

i appriciate if any one can let me know how a project can be server name independence ? this means can be run in different servers names with small changes

Above code may help you in this scenario. But if you wish to switch between providers (like SQL or Oracle or OLE db), then you may have to use Factory design pattern.

If you just want to switch between different databases inside same server then define different connection strings. if you want to switch between different servers thenuse Interface and change your architecture like below, this is just an example you could use DI public interface IDAL where T: class { IEnumerable GetAll(); T GetById( int Id); void Save(T obj); void Update(T obj); void Delete( int Id); } Public Class SqlDAL : IDAL where T: class { public IEnumerable GetAll() { implement it } and implment all } Public Class OracleDAL : IDAL where T: class { public IEnumerable GetAll() { implement it } and implment all } In your Business layer Don't use concrete Obj just use interface public class EmployeeBusiness { IDAL _db= null ; public EmployeeBusiness(IDal db) { _db=db; } Public Void SaveEmployee(Employee emp) { _db.Save(emp); } Your application layer public class web/mvc controller/console { public void Save(){ EmployeeBusiness ebo= new EmployeeBusiness( new OracleDAL()) ebo.Save(emp); }
