SharePoint Search content processing component is degraded

Maybe this could solve your problems with performance.

ALso make sure to have the latest security updates (Service Packs, Cumulative Updates) installed on your SharePoint machine. There have been some performance improvements relating search.

there may be various reason for it, check ULS logs and event logs for clue. Mostly this is because of hardware issue, either CPU spike or memory reach to 100%. make sure your hardware is meet the requirment

1. Check the ULS log for sql query execution time. If it is taking longer than expected then check the SQL server performance. 2. Also check CPU usage of crawl server during crawl. If CPU usage is high, you need to scale out crawl server. 3. Also check in ULS log, if any specific site content is taking long time to crawl.
