Sharepoint : Show list data from top level site in d subSite

Hi, I need to show data from the top level site into the sub site ?

Except the Content Query web part ? is there any other OOB web part , through which i can show it ?

And one more question :

1. which is better the ECMA Script or any OOB feature ? I need to do that , in a limited period of time.

Hi Utkarsh,

There is search base web part also. If you are using SharePoint 2013 then Content Search web part is most suitable. If you are using SharePoint 2010 then Search Result web part can be used.

But just curiosity purpose want to know is there any problem with CQWP? Why you dont want to use it. Since it is one of the most useful OOB web part.

Regarding your other question, OOB is always better than any other customization including the ECMA script or CSOM or Server Side object model. Because OOB feature perform betters, and in case in future if we need to migrate then it became very easier.

Hi,

Please try once then list viewer webpart otherwise no option but custom web part.

Thanks, I will try with content query web part. I need to do a lot customization there.

1. It should be like a list view (with field filters)
2. Paging should be there.
3. the end user, should be able to change columns whenever required, in the view

If there are 3 views on the list, it should show a drop down, user will be able to change views dynamically.

Please provide your valuable suggestions on the above requirements, Which will be the best way to do it ?
