sharing data between forms???

Do you know how to use the data in “textbox1.Text” (Form1) in a method on another form (Form2) all within the same namespace??? [email protected]

The way i found to have "global" variable that I can access across multiple forms was to create a class with all of my variables and made each variable public static. then reference the class from any form using System; namespace My_Program { ///
/// Summary description for globals. ///
public class globals { public globals() { } public static string username; } } Then from any form just access the username like so: My_Program.globals.username = "this is the username"; -or- Using My_Program; MessageBox.Show(globals.username); HTH Duddits

Hi, It sounds like you are trying to maintain state between two different objects. It may be more sensible to hold the text in a third class, or even a database. Form1 will set that data in the other class Form2 will read that data (or vice versa) This way you don't have to have references between the forms...and when Form3 comes along, it can join in the part with the other ones. The best solution I know is to send reference of the object you need to use If you are calling Form1 with Form2 with something like this : new Form1().ShowDialog() just change the Form1 constructor : private Form2 parent; ... public void Form1(Form2 sender) { parent = sender; } And then call it with : new Form1(this).ShowDialog(); So now you can call Form2 public method in Form1 private void SendTextToForm2() { parent.SetText(textBox1.Text) } I hope this will help You can try static method maybe too.
