Sharpoint Getting Started

SharePoint Designer mainly used for some customization to your sharepoint site (like master page , create a web part page, basic workflows for sharepoint etc.)


For creating sharepoint sites you need to install SharePoint Server 2010 (this is paid version - you can try out six months trial )  or SharePoint Foundation 2010 free version of SharePoint.

Then you need to create sites using Central Administration site configured after SP installation .

Thank you for taking time for helping. I did the steps, but it's asking me to have SP Foundation server in order to create a Website.

1. First install SPD 2010 - 64 bit :

2. Now install - Service Pack 2 for SPD 2010 -64 bit :-

Download link :- http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39663

Now SPD 2010 should be  ready for use .. !
