Show only limited charcater.

show 50 characters mvc c#.

i have use this @*<td>@item.Title.Substring(0, 50).....</td>*@ .It;s working fine .But i have face a issue .

I have enter 100 line character it's working. But i have enter only 4 and 5 letter charchter it;s not working.

Please provide any solution i have enter any character .
