Singleton in ASP.NET

By reading some articles I understood that singleto creates the single instance in our app. How this helps within our web Forms ? Please explain with some example in ASP.NET. please don't go to console apps.

the same class which is designed for a class library in console app can be used in asp.net app too.

There is no specific approach for asp.net to use singleton. Singleton is a design pattern and it can be implemented using any type of application.
