Hi, Fouqiah,
Current trend is of Open Source technologies such as Java, Python, Angular JS. You can start with Java and Python as they are mostly used in automation of both UI and API.

For automation there are frameworks like Selenium which is used for UI Automation. It is being developed for different programming languages such as Java, Python, C# etc. And widely accepted and have support from lot of communities and users for it.

In the current era of mobile and device applications, testing of them is also in high demand right now. I am not much aware of the testing technologies of it but I am sure you will find them by googling.

You can start with first learning about what is Automation and then dive into learning tools using your favorite programming language. The more technologies you learn the brighter the future and opportunities of growth you will have.

Thanks Chetan, there are many Automated testing tools , platform , language etc.. I'm confused from where to start.

Software Testing is not only about testing the fuctionality of the software.
You can start learning about various ways testing software in a better way.
Such as how to identify the test cases for a feature to cover all use cases so that no flow goes un-covered and delivered feature is at the best quality.

Learning techologies also required.
Testing web application would need you to know about web technologies such as http standards, status, IIS, Apache web servers etc.

You can start knowing about how to automate the testing process. Manual testing is time consuming and chances are that test cases might be missed while doing it. Automating testing would make the testing process faster and efficient.

You can explore the technologies of automation such as UI automation and API automation and learning programming language would be very much required. C#, JAVA and python are the mostly used languages to write automation.
