SQL constraints

Having a FK Disabled is a very very common thing in the BI DW world or in transaction DW DB that must accommodate the transaction data as well as the Legacy Data

 

generally, I have over 20 FK that are disabled in my BI DW

 

When I have interviews I get asked a lot,

 

Q: How do you design a DB?

 

My Answer: What Type of DB? a transaction DB or a BI DB?

They reply: What's the difference!!!!? A DB is a DB.

 

Me to myself: I am in the wrong place (lol)

 

If you have FK disabled that means you know what you are doing and you need to have it disabled specifically with todays Big data
