SQL INSERT Statement

I know exatly the function of mysqli_real_escape_string(), what I want is a similar function in Java and C#. My recently application is working just fine except when I want to insert a name that contains quote ('). I wrote the application in Java. All what I want is to find a way to able to insert such strings such as O'Brien.

Parameter Description

connection Required. Specifies the MySQL connection to use

escapestring Required. The string to be escaped. Characters encoded are NUL (ASCII 0), \n, \r, \, ', ", and Control-Z.
