sql server connection error

when i'm trying to add a .mdf database file visual studio 2012 (ultimate) shows this error message.
please help me to solve it out.
i have already tried all the possible ways but all in vain.

share your code for better understanding where is the problem. Because this type of problem have many reason user name Password wrong or Database name may be wrong.

hi try the fallowing
go to all programs-->micro soft sql server 2008 R2-->Configuration Tools-->sql server configuration manager--->sql server network configuration-->protocals for sql express click
enable TCP/IP
