Static Constructor in C#

Hi Everyone,

Please let me know the solution of below question :

Q.1) Why static constructor cant take parameter and do not have access modifier?

It wont compile. This is what already expplained by Vulpes and myself...You cant have access specifier for static constructor and you cant pass parameters. I dont understand why you are asking the same question again.

class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{
class1.i=10;
}
}

public class class1
{
static int i;
static class1(static int k)
{
i = k;
}
}
q. What will happen with the above code?
Q. What is the reason for not specifying the Access Modifier?

Static constructor is used to initialize static data members as soon as the class is referenced first time, whereas an instance constructor is used to create an instance of that class with keyword.

Only when you create new object of a class, you can pass parameter, but here we cant call static constructor, because it ll be automatically called..

class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{
class1 obj;// static constructor will be called
obj = new class1(7); // user defined constructor
class1 obj2 = new class1();
}
}

public class class1
{
int i;
static class1()
{
Console.WriteLine("Testt");
}
public class1()
{
}
public class1(int k)
{
i = k;
}
}

so now u mite know why static dont have parameters.

A static contructor is always called automatically by the CLR - it can't be called directly.

It is therefore implicitly private but, as C# is a concise language, the designers decided not to allow you to specify any access modifier, not even private.

Also it would make no sense for it to take parameters. If it did, how would the CLR know what values to pass for those parameters?
