I was just answering the question which the OP asked as he will, of course, need to convert the image to bytes before he can hide a message within them. I was expecting a follow-up question but, in the absence of other information, didn't see much point in trying to anticipate it.

Sorry Vulpes but your solution is hardly steganography, Steganography is taking an image the encoding color pixels which would represent a character such as "a" for instance. by encoding enough of the color pixels you could easily store an entire word document, I know, I have already done that, but of course the pixels of an image would have to be encoded in such a way that you would not really know that there was a message embeded in the image it self. Your solution does not and cannot do that, each pixel would need to be individually encoded so that somewhere in the color code say, "30056783", 56 would represent a character, of course something as simple as this could easily be decoded so you would need to have a means so that it cannot esily be decoded like having a color pixel created from a binary value say "10011101" that can then be used as the decoding key for the pixel holding the character code I once wrote a program (I still have the code somewhere) in C# that when I typed in a text box, the character would show in an image box as a color pixel. Very complicated program that allowed you to give 4 pharases which would then determin how the random color was to be encoded and decoded, this method created a random color and a decryption key pair so that every color pixel that had an embeded character would have an associated key with no decryption key being the same, impossible for anyone to decrypt without the 4 phrases and a primary value.
