Store procedure

Suppose I have a scenario where I can add or update a Society Detail. So I will write a single procedure for updation and insertion. Following is the example where I am adding a Society Description and the Socity's Unique ID is being used as a Flag.

I have a table called Society_Master

If I pass 0 through my Code page, then I will insert my Society Description and if I am passing the Society's Unique ID then I will updating the existing description.

CREATE PROCEDURE Soc_InsertUpdate

 @iSOC_UNQ_ID INT,// Parameter for my Society Unique ID

 @sBAH_Description NVARCHAR(100),// Parameter for my Society Description

AS

BEGIN

IF(@iSOC_UNQ_ID=0)// Check if the passed value is 0, then insert

BEGIN

INSERT INTO Society_Master(SOC_UNQ_ID,SOC_Description)

VALUES (@iSOC_UNQ_ID, @sBAH_Description)

END

ELSE// else update the description according to the Society Unique ID

BEGIN

UPDATE Society_Master SET BAH_Description = @sBAH_Description

WHERE SOC_UNQ_ID = @iSOC_UNQ_ID

END

END

For deleting the data I would simply write a Procedure like this. I will accept only 1 parameter 

(The Society Unique ID since it is my primary key)

CREATE PROCEDURE Soc_Delete

 @iSOC_UNQ_ID INT// Parameter for my Society Unique ID

AS

BEGIN

Delete from Society_Master where SOC_UNQ_ID = @iSOC_UNQ_ID

END
