Stored Procedure Parameters

There are multiple ways to do this.

1. Instead of selecting multiple values from you can select only one column in your query.

2. Your stored procedure can have one OUT parameter. You set value to this parameter in the stored procedure and access the value of this parameter in your code after executing the stored procedure.

CREATE PROCEDURE myprocedure @outparam VARCHAR(50) OUT
AS
BEGIN
SELECT @outparam = (SELECT TOP 1 Name FROM Friends)
END

SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(ConnString)
SqlCommand Command = conn.CreateCommand()
Command.CommandText = "myprocedure";
objParameter = new SqlParameter("@outparam", SqlDbType.VarChar);
objParameter.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output;
Command.Parameters.Add(objParameter);
Command.ExecuteNonQuery();
var returnValue = Command.Parameters["@outparam"].Value;
