Hi guys,

how to resolve this error while i try to insert and update in table. for datefield gives this error.

while insert or updare into table.

String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.

Use DateTime.ParseExact.- Converts the specified string representation of a date and time to its C# DateTime equivalent using the specified format and culture-specific format information. The format of the string representation must match the specified format exactly. ParseExact and TryParseExact allows to use a custom format string.
DateTime date = DateTime.ParseExact(strDate, "dd/MM/yyyy", CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);
The IFormatProvider parameter specifies the culture to use to parse the date. Unless your string comes from the user, you should pass CultureInfo.InvariantCulture. If the string does come from the user, you should pass CultureInfo.CurrentCulture, which will use the settings that the user specified in Regional Options in Control Panel.

You can use TryParseExact and set your date format.
public class ValidDate : ValidationAttribute
   {
       public override bool IsValid(object value)
       {
           DateTime dateTime;
         var isValid=  DateTime.TryParseExact(Convert.ToString(value),
             "dd/MM/yyyy",
             CultureInfo.CurrentCulture,
             DateTimeStyles.None,
             out dateTime);
           return (isValid);
       }
   }
After that use ValidDate class as an attribute to your Date like this
[ValidDate]
public string Date { get; set; }

your date format does not correct format..set proper format..it will resolve

Hi,
This error occured when your passed date is not understand by the system means system are confused which one is day and which one is month then this error occurs. Use the below code.
U Have to use ParseExact it tryPaseExactUse DateTime.ParseExact.this.
Text="22/11/2009";
DateTime date = DateTime.ParseExact(this.Text, "dd/MM/yyyy", null);

It seems that datefield inside table do not accepts sent value from main application because selected DateTime format of sent value and selected DateTime format for datefield are not the same.
