string was not recognized as a valid datetime in asp.net

What is the value you are providing in textbox, please provide.

 

Tell us in which conditions you are getting exceptions..

DBNull is used when you are passing datatime value to database like

 var cmd = new SQLCommand (###); cmd.Parameters.Add (new SQLParameter ("@date", string.IsNullOrEmpty (txtStatusDate.Text)? (Object)DBNull.Value : Convert.ToDateTime (txtStatusDate.Text)));

The process you have done has some correction string.IsNullOrEmpty(txtStatusDate.Text) ? DBNull.Value : txtStatusDate.Text; OR, DateTime dt = Convert.ToDateTime(txtStatusDate.Text) ? DBNull.Value : txtStatusDate.Text;

 

Dt accepts only date, you cannot pass string (txtStatusDate.Text) to it.

 

However, you can achieve this by: DateTime? Dt =  string.IsNullOrEmpty (txtStatusDate.Text)? null: Convert.ToDateTime (txtStatusDate.Text);

DateTime dt = Convert.ToDateTime(txtStatusDate.Text) ? DBNull.Value : txtStatusDate.Text; 

 

both are try but problem...
