Summing up values in a listbox

That suggests that either:

1. There are items in the listbox which are not numbers; or

2. There are items in the listbox which are numbers but can't be parsed as such because (for example) they contain thousand separators.

Try this instead:

double total = 0.0;

foreach (object item in listBox1.Items)

{

string itemStr = item.ToString().Replace(",", "");

double number;

double.TryParse(itemStr, out number;

total += number;

}

label1.Text = total.ToString();

Assuming it's a Windows Forms app, try this code:

double total = 0.0;

foreach (object item in listBox1.Items)

{

total += double.Parse(item.ToString());

}

label1.Text = total.ToString(); // say
